If you're looking for a little rest and relaxation without much travel, Scottsdale is the best option in Arizona.
A new list ranking the best and worst cities for staycations compiled by WalletHub finds Scottsdale at No. 4, while no other Valley city made it to the top 50.
WalletHub looked at the 100 most populated cities in the country to create its list, examining each for recreation, rest and relaxation, and food and entertainment.
Scottsdale ranked highly for its rest and relaxation options (No. 5) and food and entertainment (No. 4). Curiously, Scottsdale's recreation rank was only at No. 21.
The swanky suburb was the highest-ranking Arizona city on the list. Tucson landed at No. 11, ranking in the top 20 for its rest and relaxation and food and entertainment options. It ranked right behind Scottsdale on recreation at No. 22.
Mesa was the next highest-ranking Arizona city at No. 51, followed by Chandler (No. 53), Glendale (No. 61), Phoenix (No. 65) and Gilbert (No. 87).
Orlando topped the WalletHub list, which makes sense considering the entertainment and vacation mecca that is Walt Disney World. Strangely, though, Anaheim, California – home to Disneyland – ranked No. 98.
